He's kind of at a loose end. Mom and Dad are away through the end of the week, Bex is out of town and he's got no ideas for any writing or drawing. So pretty much all that's left is sulking. Jack flops back on the sofa, his feet up on the coffee table and idly flicks through a few channels, looking for a movie. He's uncharacteristically full of discontent.

"Yo!" He calls. "Jillie?"

She's been writing a lot more since getting home. Even though she has a computer now, she prefers the visceral realness of pen and paper. Sometimes, her writing is deep, scoring through the paper in bold, vicious lines. Sometimes, it's relaxed and for fun, she tries cursive. Her words aren't always cohesive, but it feels good to get it out.

She frowns briefly when her already erratic thoughts are interrupted, but the expression softens when she hears her brother's voice.

"Yeah?" she calls back.

She hesitates, but only long enough to finish off her thought on paper. Then she flips to a new page and hugs the notebook and pen close as she makes her way to Jack's side. She settles into place, close enough that they're touching.

"I was gonna start working on another word puzzle," she admits. "But. I probably shouldn't, right?"

"Mm, whatever," she says with a shrug. She writes 'movie' in the middle of the page. She darkens the word with several passes of her pen, and starts to write other words leading out and away from each letter. "I guess I'm still getting used to being able to have that choice," she adds. She makes a face. "Jesus, that's sad."

She smiles and shrugs one shoulder. "I like it when you're Hallmarky," she admits. "It reminds me that I'm not the only weird Vincent twin." The word puzzle is growing steadily, and maybe one or two words stick out for Jack, the way they used to when he was doing graffiti.
