He's kind of at a loose end. Mom and Dad are away through the end of the week, Bex is out of town and he's got no ideas for any writing or drawing. So pretty much all that's left is sulking. Jack flops back on the sofa, his feet up on the coffee table and idly flicks through a few channels, looking for a movie. He's uncharacteristically full of discontent.
"Yo!" He calls. "Jillie?"
"Yo!" He calls. "Jillie?"

She frowns briefly when her already erratic thoughts are interrupted, but the expression softens when she hears her brother's voice.
"Yeah?" she calls back.

"Come in here?"
Now that she's home, Jack takes every opportunity that he can to spend time with her. It's the closest that they've felt since they were kids. He doesn't quite trust it, not yet, the peace that they've settled into to. But he's so grateful for it that he feels almost on the verge of tears, all the time.

"I was gonna start working on another word puzzle," she admits. "But. I probably shouldn't, right?"

"You should do whatever makes you feel good," says Jack, automatically shifting to accomodate her, his arm slipping around her shoulder to hug her close. He'd hold her together with his hands if he could. "What do you want to watch?"

"Movie, huh?" says Jack, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he flips through to the movie channels and starts to actually pay attention to what's on. "It's not sad. It's...progress. Life's a path, remember? Gotta walk it." He wrinkles his knees. "That sounded really super Hallmarky, even to me. Jesus. Sorry."

"We're weird together, right? Two sides, same coin." He turns his head and drops a kiss into her hair, leaning his head against her and watching her write the word puzzle. "Ocean. That one's a good one."
