He's honestly not sure if this is supposed to be a date or not. They've sort of edged around the idea, and he's got permission to stay out as late as he needs to, so he supposes he'll see how things go. He's waiting for her on a corner downtown, loosely knotted tie and a vest, his shirt-sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Idly, he plays on his phone, killing him time.

He's nervous, a little. He supposes that it's more anticipation than anything.

How have I actually convinced someone that this is a good idea? is the main thought on Valkyrie's mind. After all, she's just a mess, and having been suddenly dragged into a city that she can't escape hasn't really helped her to be any more stable. But then again, Jack just makes her feel bright and optimistic, which tends to negate the rest. There's no way to know quite what this is all supposed to be, but in her experience, that sort of feeling tends to come with a few other attachments.

And one of them happens to be that she really hopes Jack feels just as positively about her. And that he doesn't mind her looking the same as always -
casual, though minus the coat. She'd considered wearing the dress she had for Valentine's, but that seems like it would be too much.
