"Clearly you weren't looking hard enough." He smiles, though, and once Jack closes the waffle iron, Poison uses a leg to coax him closer and into another kiss.

Jack steps in between Poison's spread knees, leaning up to kiss him, a hand on the worktop on either side of his hips.

"I keep expecting to wake up."

Poison smirks and reaches to tweak Jack's nipple.

"Still think you're dreaming, baby?"

He bites his lip, his breath catching at the short, sharp pain that starts an answering throb lower in his body.

"I'm not allowed to do that to you," points out Jack, stepping away from him to start cooking eggs.

"Nope, I'll smack you. But you looked like you kinda liked it. Did you?" He lifted his eyebrows, giving Jack that look he gets. Like a cat noticing something fun is in reach.

"You have smacked me," points out Jack, starting to do Poison's eggs first; he'll scramble his once he's done. "But, yeah. I liked it."

One of these days, he's going to learn not to admit that sort of thing.

Poison grins. "Noted," he quips. Poor Jack. "You need me to get anything, baby? Plates, et cetera?' He's already sliding off the counter to make himself useful.

"You can grab plates and silverware," says Jack. "Coffee? You could fix coffee while I'm making eggs."

"Ugh, fuck yes coffee." Poison gets the plates and all then hurries to the coffee maker to start a cup for Jack, then one for himself. He maybe hovers a tiny bit, like it can't go fast enough.

Jack rolls his eyes at the how eager Poison is for coffee. He plates up breakfast for both of them - Poison's eggs over easy, his scrambled. He carries both plates over to the kitchen table and sets them down.

"Black, one sugar," he says, out of habit, even though he's pretty sure that Poison knows that by now.

"Yep, know it," he assures, already making Jack's coffee. He slides it over once he's done, then mixes his own the way he likes it. "Ugh, awesome. The best. Do you have syrup?" He drifts towards the fridge to look.

"Yeah, knock yourself out." He'd only started buying that sort of thing when Poison started spending more time in his apartment. Jack settles himself at the table with his breakfast and his coffee and pulls out his phone so he can glance at the headlines while Poison's still getting himself situated.

"Gonna," he assures. Poison grabs it, then gets his plate and balances it on top of his mug as he makes his way into the kitchen. He sets his plate down and promptly - maybe obnoxiously - pushes his way into Jack's lap like it's the only seat available.

Jack shifts a little to accommodate a lap full of boyfriend. He curls one arm around Poison's waist and then starts to eat his eggs one handed.

"What do you want to do after breakfast?"

"Pretty sure you told me you weren't letting me leave the bed," he points out. "Already not doing so great on that one, friend."

"You're old. Thought we'd better get some protein, sugar and caffeine in you so you don't pass out when you come," says Jack, dropping a kiss onto Poison's shoulder. He puts down his fork and reaches for his coffee, since he's really only got one hand he can do things with. "Eat your waffles."

Poison rolls his eyes and elbows Jack - gently - in the chest. "Watch it or this old man is gonna sit you in a corner and make you think about what you did."

He tugs his plate closer so he can start on his eggs. He puts both on one of the waffles and breaks the yolk, then happily eats the waffle and egg together. He's saving the syrup for the next one.

"I have perfectly good chairs, you know," says Jack, his arm wrapped tight around Poison's waist to indicate that he's not actually asking Poison to go anywhere.

"Are you complaining about my ass being in your lap? Fussy. I might take my toys and go home if you're not nice to me," he says with a pout.

Holding Poison in his lap with that arm around his waist, Jack shifts in his hips in his chair in a way that could definitely be considered lewd.

"Not complaining," he says, mildly, setting his coffee down. "Not at all."

Poison makes a little noise when Jack's hips move like that and arousal stirs in his belly. Alright then. He grinds his hips back towards Jack's without giving up on eating his breakfast.

"Just checking."

It's not the first time that they've eaten breakfast together, but this feels comfortable in a domestic in a way that it isn't, always. Jack leans forward slightly, his arm still around Poison's waist, as he eats his eggs one handed. Once they're done, he drizzles syrup over his waffles.

"Cut those up for me?" he asks. "You've got both hands."

"You could have both hands," he points out. Poison grins though and cuts up Jack's waffles, then goes after his own. And maybe he wiggles in Jack's lap again.

"I'm comfortable where I am, thank you," says Jack, primly, ignoring the way that Poison squirms in his lap as he starts eating his waffles.

It's easier said than done.

Poison just grins and focuses on eating. It doesn't take him long - he probably eats too fast, but it hasn't hurt him yet. When he's done, he relaxes back against Jack's chest, probably not making it any easier to eat.
