"I don't know," says Jack, rolling his shoulder. "Because the thought of someone using you like that kind of makes me want to punch them in the face? I'm not sure it's rational."

"You're awesome," he says fondly, sliding his arms around Jack to hug him. "My hero." And he's not being an ass when he says that. He means it.

"Yeah?" He feels a little bit ridiculous. He drops a kiss into Poison's red hair, skims his hand down the small of his back. "It's like, the only Buddhist directive on sex. It's not supposed to be harmful physically or spiritually. I guess that's kind of what I mean."

"If you harm me physically it's cause I asked for it, and if you hurt me accidentally it's not like you're getting anything out of it." He kisses Jack's shoulder. "You're not harming me spiritually. And as far as my sense of humor, I will tone that bit down. Or I'll try."

"I love you." He says it and he means it, utterly, his arms snaking around Poison's waist to give him a solid squeeze as he kisses his shoulder. "I'm just...I'm sorry if I take a while to figure this out. I really haven't ever done anything like this before. Never been in love."

"Scary as fuck, isn't it?" He gives a tender, sympathetic smile. "We'll figure out together, baby. Promise." He turns his head to kiss Jack's temple as the elevator dings to announce the lobby.

"Scary as fuck," he echoes, threading their fingers together. "Oh God. Is Dee going to hate me even more now?"

"What?" Poison blinks, then he rolls her eyes. "If she gets mad at you because you love me, me and her'll have a talk," he says. Because he doesn't think Dee'll get upset... but if she does, he'll talk it out. He wants her to be okay, but he als wants... this.

"I can understand her not really wanting to be friends with me," he says. "I'm screwing her dad and I'm not her other dad. It's got to suck."

"Well it sucks for me when you two aren't getting along." He knows he should probably take that up with Dee, though. He adds it to the mental to-do list. He holds Jack's hand on their way out of the building.

"I'm trying," says Jack, squeezing Poison's hand as they walk. "I think she's pretty cool."

"She's awesome," he sighs. "Just wish she'd see that about you." Or maybe notice that Poison's just... happy with Jack. Really, really happy. He flaps his hand a bit. "Not gonna worry about that just this second. It's a nice day, I look fucking hot, and you're awesome. That's all that matters right this second."

"You don't think that kind of hotness is wasted on burgers and milkshakes?" Says Jack, eyebrow raised. "Because I'm pretty sure I've never seen anyone look that hot in real life."

Poison rolls his eyes. "I'm not going to stop being hungry just because I'm hot," he insists. Then he looks up at Jack and bites his lip with a coy grin. "Maybe you can do something naughty to me in the bathroom. Maybe."

"God. Don't bite your lip like that when we're in public." He huffs a laugh. "I just want to do unspeakable things to you."

He breaks into a big grin. "What kind of unspeakable things?"

"You know exactly what kind of unspeakable things," says Jack, his eyes darting down to bare skin between boots and the hem of Poison's skirt.

"I kinda wanna hear 'em though." He grins. There's a lot of skin for Jack to see.

"Of course you do," says Jack, blushing a little, pushing his free hand back through his damp hair.

"Ugh, you're a tease, Jack Vincent," he sulks. He bumps his hip against Jack's hip, grinning as he pulls him toward the little soda shop/ice cream place.

"Look. I can't help it if I'm currently obsessed with bending you over and seeing what you've got on under that skirt," says Jack, grinning. "But first we're having lunch."

Poison shivers. "First we're having lunch," he agrees, stopping to pull the door open for them. "Then we can negotiate."

"Or," says Jack, eyebrow raised, as he pushes the door open and holds it for Poison, "You could sit on the same side of the table as me and let me cop a feel. Just saying."

Poison can't help the way he bites his lip again, just for a second. "Oh I'm so down with this idea." He scoots right into the place to find them a good booth or something.

Jack had had a feeling that that reaction was going to go down well. He laughs, following Poison into the diner, and, yeah, his eyes are on his ass.
