Poison wakes kind of faster than he usually does, because Jack's voice sounds weird, and in his general state of low-key paranoia, he notices stuff like that. Also... he just-- he feels different? He moves a little, sleepy brain trying to wake up faster as the not quite right sensory input starts gaining traction.

He slides his hand up Jack's back and... okay there's a lot more hair than he's used to. It's longer.

"Jack?"

"Who else are you expecting to be waking up next to?" asks Jack, nuzzling closer, his arm slipping around Poison's waist, fingers straying under the hem of his t-shirt. "There something you're not telling me, boo?"

"Baby, you sound kinda weird." Poison pushes himself up and his eyes get bigger. Yeah, he's really awake now. "Whoa," he breathes. Okay, this seems like one of those times when he should definitely Not Freak Out.

Jack rolls onto his back, squinting up at Poison. He thinks he might be hungover; he feels really odd.

"What?"

Poison tries, so hard, not to just stare when Jack rolls over.

"Jack, you need to look in a mirror." And he needs to rein in the totally inappropriate arousal that's threatening right now.

Sighing noisily, Jack rolls over and grabs his phone, flipping open the camera. He holds it up. His eyes widen.

"What the fuck?"

Poison is trying - he is really fucking trying, he wants that noted somewhere in the universe - to appreciate the fact that Jack is about to freak out. Because this is a big deal. Jack definitely has breasts, and-- His eyes drift down and he bites his lip for a second.

Jack is a woman.

And as soon as he has that thought, there's a voice in his head that says something like genitalia does not equal gender, Poison, that's fucking rude and he knows that.

"... You okay, baby?"

"I..." Jack turns his head to the side, eyes flicked so that he can study his new profile, the swoop of his hair against his shoulder. Kavinsky had mentioned something about this, he's sure. Which doesn't make it any less fucking weird. He looks down at the rise of breasts barely covered by the sheet.

"Yeah? I mean. I guess?"

"I mean there's degrees of okay, and I'm not necessarily talking about physically." Poison lifts the blanket to peek under, just... checking. He feels his cheeks get warm and drops the blanket again.

"I mean, it's probably temporary, so...I'm not going to sweat it." Maybe if he says it in a confident enough tone of voice, he'll actually believe it? He raises an eyebrow when Poison glances under the blanket. "Pervert."

Poison rolls his eyes. "Whatever. I mean, if you uhm. If you're not comfortable with being touched right now or you need some time to figure this out, that's cool. I totally get that this is probably super jarring, even if you are trying to be a zen master over there."

He offers Jack a little smile, then looks down. "What uhm. I mean." He looks at Jack again and lifts his eyebrows. "You're taking this pretty well."

"Well, there really isn't any point in freaking us both out, is there?" ask Jack. He goes back to looking at himself in his cellphone. "Holy shit. I look exactly like Jille. That's so freaking weird."

He shakes his head, supposing he shouldn't induce freaking out if Jack's not feeling it. He's kind of impressed.

"Alright, so... what pronouns am I using?"

"It's totally temporary."

Saying it again is reassuring. He keeps working on believing it. He turns his face to look at Poison, thinking that over.

"He. I'm still me in here."

Poison nods. "Alright. Just hit me if I slip up or something. I mean, I don't think I will? But, y'know. Just in case." He doesn't think it will be an issue mostly because he's known Jack as a he since they met and he's pretty sure it won't be too hard to keep that up.

He offers a little smile and leans to give Jack a kiss. It's a little different.

"Well, the bad news is, if you wanna look femme I'm not sure you'll fit in my clothes."

"Because tits?" says Jack, smiling at how ridiculous that sounds, leaning into the kiss a little, chasing after it. He collapses back against his pillow, looking up at Poison. "Jesus."

Poison rolls his eyes. "Because tall, asshole." Then he pouts and crosses his arms over his chest. "Don't make fun of me for being flat-chested, it's rude."

Then he smiles a little and tips his head. "What's up?"

"Do I still look tall to you?" asks Jack. He grins, biting his lip and reaches out to trace the point of Poison's chin with long, slim fingers. "Does it bother you? Being flat-chested?" He raises one eyebrow. "It just...feels weird."

"I don't think you're any shorter?" Poison turns his head, trying to judge. "And no, it doesn't bother me." He smiles and turns his head towards Jack's touch. He looks at his face, studies it.

"You look different," he says, and he knows Jack looks like Jillie now, which is a little weird. He sees familiar features, but it's not... He doesn't know how to phrase it. "Your eyes are the same, at least."

"You can still see me, right?" say sJack, his eyebrows drawing together in concern for a moment. "You're still...you know...You still think I'm..."

He fumbles for the right word.

"I still think you're what?" he prompts, tone actually rather gentle. He watches the way the expressions play over Jack's face - those are still familiar, even if the face is not quite the same.

God, he feels ridiculous even asking. He can feel his face starting to heat. He deliberately ignores the shape of his body under the sheet.

"You'res still into me?"

Poison's look softens. "Baby, I'm pan. What you've got going on between your legs literally doesn't matter to me. It's just a surprise that you are very suddenly different that's taking some getting used to, that's all." It's not like Jack had transitioned or anything. It had just happened over night.

"I mean, academically, I know that," says Jack, worrying his lip with his teeth for a moment. He skims his fingers along Poison's bicep. "I just...am having a lot of feelings right now. It's fine." He laughs. "Pretty different, huh?"

"It's okay not to be zen about this," he points out. "I mean, you know I could totally try provoking you if you think it'd help get the feelings out."

It wouldn't be the first time.

Poison looks Jack over, smiling when he realizes Jack still has his tattoos. He reaches to brush along the familiar colors and lines. "Different," he agrees. "But still you."
