"I'm pretty sure that Kavinsky's in love with me."

He blurts it out, all of a sudden, lying on his side in bed with a movie playing on the laptop. He rolls over to look up at Poison, eyebrows raised. "I mean, I know he is. But...it's not a big deal. It's not. It's just...something I'm not okay with you not knowing anymore."

He blurts it out. And then he waits.

"I don't know how soon you can like... start this, if I say yes," he answers. "Like, even if I said okay tomorrow, I don't know if I'd be okay with you just like... darting off to go fool around or something. It needs more distance. I need-- will you let me decide when the light is green?"

"Yeah," says Jack, without hesitation. He squeezes Poison's hip. "Of course I'll let you decide."

"That's really okay?" Poison frowns a little as he meets Jack's gaze. "That's not-- infringing?" That's not the word he wants and the helpless tone hopefully conveys that, but he's trying.

"If that's something that you need then it's really okay, baby," says Jack, gently, making sure that he makes eye-contact. "I promise."

He nods and sinks down again, eyes drifting back up to the ceiling. "Okay," he says quietly. They can do this. It'll work, and it'll be fine. "Still trying to be okay with asking for time," he admits.

"I know you don't like being the person who's making rules and putting boundaries on this, but...I think it's what we both need. For you to have some agency, for me to know where the edges are." He presses a kiss against the graceful point of Poison's nose. "Would you rather I stay away from the heavy kinky stuff altogether?"

"For now?" he says, looking and sounding a little helpless. "Maybe-- maybe once we - I? - get more comfortable it'll be fine." Poison feels an awkward blush warming his face.

"I can do that," he says, hating how unbalanced and off Poison sounds right then. "Do you want to know about what we do, or...?"

"I'll let you know," he says. "Like... I'll ask, y'know?" And he's sure he might - he could get playful, he could get dirty. He just has to be comfortable first.

He lifts an eyebrow. "Do you wanna know? If I'm with someone else?"

"Yeah," says Jack, nodding immediately. "Same deal. If you're with someone else, I want to know about it."

"Yeah, but how much do you want to know, is what I'm asking." Poison shrugs a bit. "What boundaries do you want in place for me? What rules do you want for me?"

Maybe it's too soon to ask all that of Jack, but he wants him to know this does work both ways. The freedom and the rules.

"I want to know who you're with, but I don't think I want to know details, necessarily." That might change, in the moment, but for right now? "Don't let anyone hurt you. Don't fall in love with anyone."

Poison nods, and then he can't help but smile. "I'm all yours, baby." He leans to kiss Jack, sweet and lingering. "What kind of hurt are we talking about?"

"I know that...sometimes? Some of the things that we do...they get kind of close to what happened to you before." He can't bring himself to say it out loud, so he hopes Poison follows. "Don't let someone else get you that close."

His look softens and he leans to kiss Jack again. "Okay. No hardcore smacking around." He strokes Jack's hair. "And we can both renegotiate these things... like if you feel there's something you really wanna do with Kav, you can talk to me about it, okay? Even if it's something I've said no to before. That doesn't necessarily mean no forever. Okay?"

He's relieved when Poison's face softens like that and then he leans into the kiss. He nods.

"I get it." He smudges their noses together. "We'll figure it out as we go, yeah?"

He nods and kisses Jack again. "Yes. I love you, Jack. That's not changing. I'll be your anchor for this."

Jack nods, leaning in to nuzzle along Poison's jaw, breathing in the scent of him.

"Are we done talking? I could do with you getting me out of my head, baby."

Poison pulls Jack on top of him, pulling him into another kiss. "We can totally be done talking," he murmurs, leaning up to kiss Jack again, tongue slipping to taste him.

Jack moans softly, opening his mouth to the kiss, rolling his hips down to meet Poison's. His hands frame his boyfriend's head on the pillow.

His thighs shift, pressing on either side of Jack to get him closer. "I love you," he murmurs, hands cradling Jack's face. "Whatever else, that's not gonna change." He feels like he can promise that. Then he laughs a little. "I'll stop talking now."

"I love you too," says Jack. He arches an eyebrow. "Do I need to put something in your mouth to stop your talking?" What he really wants is for Poison to slap him around a bit, remind him what a good thing he's got here. But he'll go either way.

He laughs, startled, and shakes his head a little. "Tell me what you need," he murmurs, kissing Jack again.

"I need you to go hard on me," says Jack, kissing down Poison's jaw. "Remind me where my boundaries are." He kisses him again. "Please."

Poison nods and his hand slides, gripping Jack's jaw and chin. "You're gonna fuck me, though. Because you're a good boy, and because I'm telling you that I want your cock. You're gonna give it to me, right?"

His look shifts as he says that, the one that says they're starting a scene, the one that says that Jack is his for however long this lasts, and anything less than yes, unless it's a red light, isn't going to work.
